Following the personal shots taken between Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton in the build to their WrestleMania match, fans probably weren't sure what to expect when the two of them finally made it to their title match. Whether they would be able to put their personal differences aside for the sake of a good match at WrestleMania, or if tempers would spill over and things would get a little too real.
Tiffany Stratton Retained Her Title, But Lost Part Of Her Tooth
On the surface, it looks like it was the former. While the match between Flair and Stratton won't be inducted into the new match wing in WWE's Hall of Fame anytime soon, it was a solid match, and Stratton picked up the biggest win of her career to date. Tiffy retained the WWE Women's Championship against arguably the biggest female WWE Superstar ever on the biggest stage possible.
It wasn't until after the match, and after Flair had left the ring, that a suggestion Flair did manage to get a little too real with Stratton manifested. As the Women's Champion held her title aloft, watching the defeated Flair head back to the locker room, her top lip looked a little swollen. Stratton then opened her mouth to reveal what appeared to be a severely chipped tooth and a mouthful of blood.
When Exactly In The Match It Happened Is Currently Anyone's Guess
Some fans have suggested online that Stratton might have lost a tooth, although it does appear to have just been chipped. Painful nonetheless, and on closer inspection, that's not the only mark Flair left on her opponent. The champ also has a welt on her head and again, while it's unclear when exactly in the match the mark was left, considering what happened between these two heading into this match, fans have jumped to the assumption that Flair wanted to leave a mark, especially when she'd have known she wouldn't be winning.
When exactly in the match the chipped tooth and knock to the head happened is unclear at this early stage. Whether Flair was responsible for the injuries or not, and whether she intended to hurt Stratton or did so by accident, will become clearer in the coming hours. Fans will rewatch that match frame by frame to try and figure out when the injuries happened. Stratton didn't look happy post-match despite her win, so it seems likely something more went on between her and Flair.
